These are the faces of brain injury. These are the faces of those who fight through unimaginable mental and physical challenges. Imagine waking up in a different land, with people who speak a different language, and live a different life. Imagine the fear of learning to navigate through that unknown. That’s what many of these brave individuals take on every day. While no two brain injuries are the same, they do have a few things in common. They don’t fade or mend, they are always present, requiring brain injury survivors to navigate in a brand-new world as they fight to establish a new norm.

The Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado is the go-to resource for help and services for survivors of an injury to the brain, their families, and providers. Through guidance, resources, support, and education, BIAC seeks to engage with Coloradans in as they navigate the path of rehabilitation. Brain injuries are so prevalent and so devastating to not only the individual who had the injury, but also their families.

Funding is critical for us to continue to support survivors in our state which is why I am reaching out to family and friends to share my exciting commitment to participate in the 2019 Pikes Peak Challenge Summit Hike. The Pikes Peak Challenge is the ultimate test of our own mental and physical boundaries as we raise money and awareness for those who have suffered an injury to the brain. Their daily challenges surmount our own. When I finish, I will have hiked 13 miles and 7,400 vertical feet to the 14,115 ft Pikes Peak Summit.

Last year $225,000 was raised to support the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado! This year we hope to surpass that number. Can you help us reach our goal?

Please donate now and together we can make a huge impact for brain injury survivors and the entire brain injury community.

      Matt,

Oh my goodness! How are you, Amy & Jake? I think of your family often. You really made an impression on me on that mountain. I can’t believe we are going to be on it again together! We MUST connect!

We are so excited for 9.7! We have some returning hikers and first timers this year. I love this day to honor my friend. From Kumi’s nursing home bed – she continues to inspire and motivate people to hike / donate in her name to help others from the very thing that took her from us. She hasn’t spoken to me in 32 years but def my biggest life teacher.

Thanks for reaching out!! It means so much. If it is okay, I’ll reach out to Amy via FB to try and connect.
