The beautiful 13-mile round trip hike up to Barr Camp and back down on the well-established Barr Trail is a fantastic opportunity to test your physical limits while raising awareness for the daily challenges of brain injury survivors and their families. The health and safety of our participants is our primary concern, and this event will follow safety guidelines for events as outlined by the state of Colorado.
Start time: 5:00 a.m., 5:30 a.m., 6:00 a.m. (Experienced hikers, please plan to start at the 5:00 a.m or 5:30 a.m. start time.)
Start area: Memorial Park in Manitou Springs – 502 Manitou Ave. (corner of Manitou Ave. & El Paso Blvd.)
Distance: 13-mile round trip – Hike to beautiful Barr Camp and back down.
Round trip transportation provided to and from the park and the trailhead.
Cost: $30 registration fee until June 20th
$40 registration fee until August 19th
$50 registration until the day of the event
Donation minimum $200 per person
Teams: Create a team and share in the fundraising responsibilities. As long as your teams total amount of donations equals $200 per person, you have met your fundraising requirements. For example, a team of 5 needs to raise $200 per person or $1,000 as a team.
The Pikes Peak Challenge Barr Camp Hike takes place on the well-established Barr Trail. From the Trailhead, hikers make their way 7 miles up the trail to the beautiful Barr Camp at 10,200ft. Once you have had a chance to have a drink and snack, you will then descend back down the trail to the Trailhead. You will be transported from the Trailhead to Memorial Park.
Each participant must be pre-registered. You can register online or by mail-in registration. You must be 12 years old (accompanied by an adult) and in good physical condition to hike. Registration deadline is September 7th.
Once you register, you will receive a personal online fundraising link. Cash/check donations can be mailed to the address below and when received they will be allocated to your fundraising page. You can also turn them in on the day of the hike.
