Dear Friends and Family!

It is hard to believe, but the 2014 Pike Peak Challenge is just around the corner! This year the Pikes Peak Challenge Summit Hike for Brain Injury Awareness is on Saturday, September 6. This will be the fourth year that I have participated in this event and I am very excited! I will be hiking Barr Trail to the top of Pikes Peak. When I finish, I will have hiked 13 miles and climbed 7,400 vertical feet to the summit to join other hikers and supporters in celebration of brain injury awareness and prevention.

As many of you may remember, last year’s hike was particularly meaningful to me as I hiked in honor of my cousin, Troy Lee Turner, who was a brain injury survivor. As I have reflected on last year’s hike and prepared for this year’s hike, I have thought a great deal about the support that I received last year from my wonderful family and friends. The support and encouragement that I received from all of the amazing people in my life was truly touching and I cannot adequately express my heart felt appreciation for each of you! As a result, it is my desire this year to complete the Pikes Peak Challenge in honor of each of you. Each year, we receive a wonderfully designed shirt to commemorate the event. This year, I will be writing the names of each of my family and friends on my shirt and hiking to the top of Pikes Peak for you!

Each of you have amazing stories and every one of you has been truly inspiring to me!  It is for this reason that I am completing the Pikes Peak Challenge in your honor.

If you would like to support my endeavors to make a difference, I encourage you to make a donation to this important cause.  You can make a donation by following this link: https://www.pikespeakchallenge.com/campaigns/pikes-peak-challenge-summit-hiker-kory-turner/. You can also visit https://pikespeakchallenge.com/, click “Make a Donation” on the right and then find my name in the list and click it.

Every dollar makes a difference and I appreciate any help you can give. Last year, your many generous donations enabled me to raise $1095.00 and exceed my goal of $1000.00! This year, it is my goal to raise $1,200. It is an ambitious goal, but one that I know we can achieve together. Whatever you feel you are able to contribute makes a huge difference as we strive to reach this goal. Thank you for making a difference in my life and in the lives of Brian Injury Survivors everywhere!

Very Respectfully,

Kory Mark Turner
