Hi! My name is Angie, and I’m fundraising for the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado. My mom suffered a debilitating stroke 11 years ago. We are fortunate to not have lost her, and I am impressed every day with the resiliency both she and my dad have as she continues to work through rewiring her brain, rehab of her severely affected right/dominant side, and adjusting to what is still a “new” life for them both.

We didn’t know about the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado when this happened, or even until August of 2019, actually. Mission one of their challenge, of course, is to raise awareness, so Mission 1 accomplished! Mom is already aware of some additional resources she may find helpful. Mission two, of course, is to raise funds to ensure that BIAC can continue to deliver services to those who have suffered a traumatic brain injury.

I’m a Colorado native who’s never climbed a 14-er (when did THAT become cool?!), and obviously this cause could still be supported without my doing that, but it’s a challenge for me that is barely a reflection of the mountains mom’s had to overcome, and it’s attention grabbing, which helps me ask you to support this organization, too.

The challenge is to raise a minimum of $200 to help support the BIAC in their mission. I hope you’ll consider helping me help them out!
