I was introduced to the Pueblo Brain Injury Support Group after my motorcycle accident in 2007. Since than I had a stroke 2010 and concussions with the last once in 2016.
The Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado (BIAC) is where I learned of the Pikes Peak Challenge which raises funds that provides services for brain injury survivors and their families. The classes, workshops, outdoor events, conferences and supports groups allowed me to move forward. Meeting other survivors and their families gave me hope that if I stay connected to BIAC I would survive the many life changes that were occurring in my life.
I could not have received the assistance without the funding, so it is important that we all assist in supporting Brain Injury Alliance of CO (BIAC) which is the go-to- resources for help and services for survivors of an injury to the brain, their families and providers.
I began volunteering with Pikes Peak Challenge as a way to give back and say thank you to the many participates who raised funds and climbed the summit. It was overwhelming to see the many smiles, young and old being so appreciative.

The Pikes Peak Challenge has evolved being creative so everyone can participate, whether they choose to do the Summit Hike, Barr Camp Hike, Manitou Walk or the Virtual Challenge it up to you.
Today Pueblo Brain Injury group can participate as Team Brainiac’s in the Manitou Walk which we have done the last four year.
Each year I am grateful to all who continue to support me as well as the many survivors and families. Help me reach my goal of raising $200.00 and more.
