I am participating this year in the Pike Peak Challenge! The Pikes Peak Challenge raises awareness for brain injury survivors and raises critical funding for the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado (BIAC). BIAC is dedicated to serving individuals affected by all forms of injuries to the brain. BIAC’s mission is to improve the quality of life for survivors by connecting them with resources to help navigate the path of rehabilitation. Brain injuries are so prevalent and so devastating to not only the individual who had the injury, but also their families.
I will be participating on Team Craig. My motivation to participate in this challenge for this cause comes from my experience working at Craig Hospital for the past three years. I have had the privilege of meeting, working with, and serving individuals who have experienced brain injuries during my time at Craig. In the past 6 months I have transitioned to and been working on a team/floor focused specifically on serving patients and families of individuals who have experienced injury to the brain. I am repeatedly inspired by these individuals. I am excited to help raise awareness for the brain injury community through this event.
