Dear Family and Friends,

I can’t believe the 2018 Pikes Peak Challenge is just 19 days away! It really snuck up on me! This year the Pikes Peak Challenge Summit Hike for Brain Injury Awareness is on Saturday, September 8. This will be the eighth year that I have participated in this wonderful event and I am pumped to hit the mountain again. As in years past, I will be hiking Barr Trail to the top of Pikes Peak. When I finish, I will have hiked 13 miles and climbed 7,400 vertical feet to the summit to join other hikers and supporters in celebration of brain injury awareness and prevention.

As I reflect on the past seven years participating in this event, I am impressed with just how many people I know that have been affected by a Brain Injury. I have come to sincerely appreciate just how much our lives can be impacted by those around us who have suffered a traumatic brain injury. All of their stories are stirring, uplifting, and motivating. They are a testament to the unconquerable human spirit and the difference that family and friends can make in overcoming adversity.

It is for these reasons that this particular event has come to mean so much to me. Each of you has been a part of something that I believe is genuinely noble and your love and support motivates me each year to hike again. All of you have incredible stories and over the past seven years we have created an amazing legacy together that I will always treasure. Every one of you has been truly inspiring to me and I cannot thank you enough or express how much this has meant!

I hope that you will consider making a donation to this important cause again this year. You can donate by following this link: https://www.pikespeakchallenge.com/campaigns/2018-pikes-peak-challenge-summit-hiker-kory-turner/. You can also visit https://pikespeakchallenge.com/, click the “Donate to a Participant” button in the middle of the page, search for my name, and click it.

Last year, together we raised a total of $900.00 and we were the 24th highest fundraiser! This year I have set a very ambitious goal of trying to raise $1500.00. Every dollar we raise makes a difference and is a great opportunity to help increase awareness. Whatever you feel you are able to contribute goes towards this end and I deeply appreciate any help you can give. Thank you for making a difference in my life and in the lives of Brian Injury Survivors everywhere!

I Love You All!
