Hi Everyone, After working the Pikes Peak Challenge as a SAR volunteer for the past 9 years, now I’m putting together a team of employees from Cherwell Software to climb the Peak together to raise awareness for brain injury survivors and to raise critical funding for the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado (BIAC). 

BIAC’s mission is to improve the quality of life for survivors by connecting them with resources to help navigate the path of rehabilitation. Brain injuries are so prevalent and so devastating to not only the individual who had the injury, but also their families. BIAC is dedicated to serving individuals affected by all forms of injuries to the brain. Last year $275,000 was raised to support the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado and this year they hope to surpass that number and raise $300,000. Can you help us reach our goal?

We all have people in our lives who are survivors of TBI, such as my former colleague Bill, or perhaps those who have not survived their TBI, such as my own brother Bill who passed away in 2013 from a Glioblastoma Multi-Forme (GBM) brain tumor.

I’m excited to share my commitment to participate in the 2018 Pikes Peak Challenge Summit Hike in my brother’s memory. When I finish, I will have hiked 13 miles and 7,400 vertical feet to the 14,110 foot summit of Pikes Peak. Those who know me know that this climb is not new to me, and the courage and strength it takes for a TBI survivor to overcome day to day struggles that come with a life of living with an injury to the brain is far more impressive than what I’m doing.

Please donate now and together we can make a huge impact for brain injury survivors and the entire brain injury community.  Any amount is welcome… some suggestions: a dollar per mile ($13), $14 for a “Fourteener”, $59 for my age 59, a penny for each vertical foot gained ($74.00), a flat amount ($5, $10, $50, etc)… any amount helps!
