I’m taking the 2017 Pikes Peak Challenge in memory of my son, Zachary. Zachary suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident at the age of 3. Zachary’s friends and family saw the struggles and challenges of a brain injury survivor through Zachary’s life. We want to help others facing this life challenge.

The Pikes Peak Challenge is a 13 mile hike from Manitou Springs to the 14,110 foot summit of Pikes Peak. This will be my fifth Pikes Peak Challenge in memory of Zachary.

Donations from the Pikes Peak Challenge go to Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado (BIAC). BIAC is the go-to resource for survivors of an injury to the brain, their families, and providers. Many members of the BIAC team as well as those working the Pikes Peak Challenge know firsthand the challenges, courage and strength it takes for a survivor to overcome the day-to-day struggles that come with an injury to the brain. They are an inspiration to all. Join me in helping them.
