Dear Friends and Family!

I can’t believe that the 2015 Pikes Peak Challenge is only a month and a half away! This year the Pikes Peak Challenge Summit Hike for Brain Injury Awareness is on Saturday, September 12. This will be the fifth year that I have participated in this wonderful event and I am very excited! As in years past, I will be hiking Barr Trail to the top of Pikes Peak. When I finish, I will have hiked 13 miles and climbed 7,400 vertical feet to the summit to join other hikers and supporters in celebration of brain injury awareness and prevention.

As I have reflected on the past four years that I have participated in this event, I feel a deep sense of gratitude and humility. I cannot even begin to express how much the love and support that I have received from each of you has meant. It has truly touched and inspired me and driven me to be a better person. I have also come to truly appreciate just how much our lives can be impacted by those around us who have suffered a traumatic brain injury. My cousin Troy’s story, along with others that I have heard hiking the past four years are truly inspiring and motivating. They are a testament to the unconquerable human spirit and the difference that friends and family can make.

It is for these reasons that this particular event has come to mean so much to me. Each of you has been a part of something that I believe is truly noble and your love and support motivates me each year to hike again. Each of you has an incredible story and over the past four years we have created an amazing story together that I will always treasure. Every one of you has been truly inspiring to me and I cannot thank you enough or express how much this has meant!

As the next chapter of this story unfolds, I would again encourage you to make a donation to this important cause. Every dollar makes a difference and I appreciate any help you can give. Last year, together we raised a total of $1400.00 which exceeded my goal of $1200.00! This year, I am not setting a specific goal. The amount that we raise is not as important to me as the opportunity that everyone has to help and increase awareness. Whatever you feel you are able to contribute makes a huge difference towards this end. Thank you for making a difference in my life and in the lives of Brian Injury Survivors everywhere!

Love You All!

Kory
