On January 3, 2000, I was hit by a car on the driver’s side and ended up on the neighbor’s lawn. My head smashed against the window and my body was jolted. Luckily, my two young children were safely secured in their car seat and booster seat and had no injuries.
It took over five years of pain medication, various therapies and treatments to recover. Having an organization like the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado to provide support and services is so important to the community.
I am fundraising to keep the needed services and support for the survivors and family members. It can be a stressful and frustrating time and it is nice to have an organization to turn to.
