Help Us Support Survivors of Traumatic Brain Injury

On June 13, 2018, just two days after my 31st birthday and only eight weeks after giving birth to my third baby girl, I was in a life-altering bicycle accident near my home that resulted in a traumatic brain injury.

A craniotomy saved my life that night — by the grace of God — but that was only the beginning of a long and painful road.

Six months later, I faced a terrifying complication: the bone flap from my surgery had not fused, had become infected, and was declared nonviable. It had to be removed in an emergency craniectomy to prevent the infection from reaching my brain.

For four months, I lived without part of my skull. I was extra fragile — unable to care for myself, let alone my three daughters, then ages 0, 2, and 3.

In April 2019, I underwent my fourth brain surgery, where the missing skull was replaced with a titanium plate. Since then, I’ve been rebuilding. Slowly, prayerfully, and with fierce determination, I’ve continued to heal and regain my strength.

Why I’m Asking for Your Help

Recovering from a brain injury is overwhelming — emotionally, physically, and financially. Too many people don’t have access to the care, support, or resources they desperately need.

That’s why I created this fund: to help others facing what I faced. Your donation can provide direct support for individuals with traumatic brain injuries — from therapy access to transportation, equipment, or even a moment of hope in the darkest days.

If my story moves you, please give. Let’s come alongside those still fighting their way back and remind them: they’re not alone.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Lindsey Samelson
