It's official. Just registered for my second Pikes Peak Challenge. Why would you hike 13 miles and 7,400 vertical feet two times? Two important reasons: Bruce and Kay. Their life stories have been impacted by Traumatic Brian Injuries (TBI). Pikes Peak Challenge raises money for Brain Injury Awareness. Bruce, my brother-in-law, is a survivor of TBI. He is disabled and lives in Colorado. Kay, my sister, saved her husband's life & has been loyaly & lovingly by his side ever since. She is my hero.

The Pikes Peak Challenge is very personal and emotional especially from the tree line to the summit. I could blame it on the altitude, but it's more than that. It's knowing many fellow hikers are TBI survivors. It's knowing some survive and struggle every day. It's knowing some don't survive and their loved ones struggle every day.

Every dollar makes a difference and I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you for making a difference and I will be thinking of Bruce and Kay.
