On July 25th, 2019 my sister Lauren turned 27. This was the first time in her life the number of brain surgeries she has had aligns with her age. Lauren suffers from an extreme case of Cerebral Palsy. She is unable to walk, talk or see and has to be feed through a tube. Yet, she has defied the doctors odds her whole life and has always come out on top. She never forgets to laugh when I am in trouble or be loud when everyone else is loud but the best part is she does not let her disability hold her back. She can brighten anyone's day in a heartbeat. She is a true warrior and has taught me life lessons I would have never learned anywhere else. I have chosen to partake in the Pikes Peak Summit Hike to accomplish one mountain compared to the many that she has.
