Pikes Peak has always been special. After all, it’s America’s mountain. But as someone who grew up in Colorado Springs, it’s truly a magnificent presence.
I’d always wanted to get more acquainted with the beautiful mountain that stood above me most of my life in Colorado Springs. And in 2021, I did. I hiked Pikes Peak in 2021 for the first time. I brought some friends, split it into 2 half-days, and camped at Barr Camp on the way up. It was a bucket list item for me and it did not disappoint!
I already knew I wanted to try Pikes Peak again this year. But I wanted to give it a try in one go! No camping. 12.5 mi, 7500ft elevation gain. Trailhead to summit.
I stumbled on the “Pikes Peak Challenge” and it seemed like a good way to combine my goal while supporting an important cause. And now…I feel extra motivated!
Feel free to donate to my hike if you wish. :) You will help raise awareness for brain injury survivors.
