HONORARY CHAIRWOMAN

Alison Dunlap
2-Time Olympian
World Champion
13-Time National Champion

From a kid with a training wheel-equipped, royal blue, banana seat bicycle to a World Mountain Bike Champion, Alison Dunlap has never ignored her dad's advice when he told her, "don't stop pedaling!" It was this advice that has taken her beyond an early interest in soccer and gymnastics to become one of the elite among cycling. This Colorado Springs resident was Valedictorian of her 1987 Smoky Hill High School class (Denver, CO) and a 1991 graduate of Colorado College.

She has always maintained an intense interest in sports. A life-long interest in cycling resulted in her becoming the only female member of the Colorado College school cycling club. The die was cast forever when she became the Woman's National Road Racing Collegiate Champion her senior year.

In September 2005, Alison completed her cycling career at the U.S. National Championships. She has also been awarded the prestigious Everest Award for best female in mountain biking at the Teva Mountain Games in Vail, Colorado.

Alison joined the Pikes Peak Challenge as Honorary Chairwoman in July 2005 speaking passionately about her love of cycling and about experiencing the ramifications of brain injury when she missed four months of the 1995 season after a crash that caused a second-degree concussion and recurring headaches. Pikes Peak Challenge participants look forward to her hiking with them in the Challenge and the congratulatory hugs celebrating their ascent to the summit of Pikes Peak.

The Pikes Peak Challenge is honored to have Alison as our Honorary Chairwoman! For more of Alison's bio or for information on her camps please visit www.alisondunlap.com.
